Mayor
Tom Corum |
Music was just one of Mayor Corum's passions. He was one of the original Hwy 21 Band members and played guitar and sang vocals. He was a very talented individual that put his heart and soul into Idaho City. The Recreation Area was Mayor Corum's vision, and he worked a lot of the initial planning for all the venues as well as helped write the grant and obtained the property from the BLM that help make his dream a reality. Of course there were, and still are a LOT of other volunteers that helped make this possible as well. Mayor Corum was notified in the twilight of his life that the Amphitheater was being named after him. The look on Mayor Corum's face was priceless when he found out about the honor being bestowed upon him by the town. However, it was Idaho City that was honored to have a visionary and top notch Mayor serve them well. His is very much missed by family, friends, and the citizens of Idaho City. |
